We are a team of coaches who believe fitness should be accessible, enjoyable, and sustainable. Founded with a simple mission: help real people get real results without the gimmicks.
Our Story
proactive-bridge started in 2016 when our founder, James Hartley, grew frustrated with the fitness industry's obsession with quick fixes and one-size-fits-all approaches. After a decade working in commercial gyms, he saw too many people give up—not because they lacked willpower, but because they were given programmes that ignored their individual needs.
What began as a small personal training studio with three clients has grown into a respected coaching practice serving hundreds of people across the United Kingdom. Our growth has been entirely organic, built on referrals from clients who experienced genuine, lasting change.
We have never chased trends or fads. Instead, we have stayed committed to the fundamentals: proper movement, progressive overload, adequate recovery, and above all, treating every person who walks through our doors as an individual.

Strength & Conditioning Coach

All our coaches hold Level 3 Personal Training certifications as a minimum, with most holding additional specialist qualifications in areas like strength and conditioning, nutrition, or sports-specific coaching. We also require ongoing professional development.
Absolutely. A significant portion of our clients started with zero gym experience. We teach proper technique from the ground up and progress at whatever pace suits your learning style and comfort level.
At a typical gym, you get access to equipment. Here, you get access to expertise and accountability. Every session is coached, every programme is individualised, and someone is genuinely invested in your progress.
Of course. We encourage prospective clients to visit, meet the team, and see if the environment feels right. There is no obligation, and we will not pressure you into signing up on the spot.
